LoveKrafty was born in Nottingham, England in the 70’s and grew up in a small coal-mining town in Northeast England. At a very early age it was clear that LoveKrafty was talented in art and music. He would sneak up to his neighbors’ house at the age of four to play their upright piano.
At the age of nine, LoveKrafty and his parents immigrated to New York. The move was an eye-opening experience for him. Not always fitting in, he immersed himself more and more into his art, but did poorly at everything else. By thirteen, LoveKrafty had bought his first keyboard and soon after, his first guitar. The art suddenly stopped, he focused solely on music. LoveKrafty grew a deep appreciation for The Beatles and other sixties music at an early age, while everyone else was listening to Michael Jackson. By fifteen, his parents had enough of his failing grades and troublesome friends and in an attempt to put him back on track, he was sent back to England to complete school.
At sixteen, LoveKrafty put his first band together and not long after, started playing out locally. This is when he had his first taste of the recording studio with which he instantly fell in love. A few bands later LoveKrafty was touring around England.
When LoveKrafty was nineteen, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia and within three weeks he joined a local Rock n’ Roll band. After a few years of struggling on the Atlanta scene, he decided to throw in the towel on playing live shows and turned his attention instead to recording studios. Subsequently, LoveKrafty started interning at Atlanta’s Electric Mistress Sound Studios, where he met T.J. Larkin. T.J. later went on to work in music production in Nashville and LoveKrafty landed a job building out and managing a studio in Atlanta.
At this point, LoveKrafty started producing and engineering music for films, T.V., and locally renowned hip-hop artists (LaFace, The Dungeon Family) but it all came crashing down when the owners got into legal disputes over the studio.
LoveKrafty decided to start writing his own music in his own studio. By day he worked at various broadcasting facilities and by night he worked on music.
In 2001, LoveKrafty was offered work at CMT and enjoyed Nashville so much he decided to make it his home. Although he had no interest in being in the musical clique, LoveKrafty struck up ties with several artists and producers and started producing music with T.J. Larkin as well as doing independent film production work.
It was at this time, through T.J. Larkin, when we at Muddy Sunshine first met him. LoveKrafty did some production work for us but never pushed his personal music. When we finally heard his music we were blown away!
Two years later, LoveKrafty moved to Los Angeles, California, where he currently resides and continues to produce his own music at his studio.
It is difficult to describe LoveKrafty’s music, as it straddles many genres. Big, bold, quirky, moody, sometimes light, sometimes dark, tongue-in-cheek, psychedelic electronic rock n’ roll would be our best effort. He goes from Reggae to Sixties to Techno to Rock and Roll and beyond, but with a British melodic sensibility we think people will love.
Muddy Sunshine is thrilled to have LoveKrafty on board and we look forward to working with him!
